Super Simple Easy Peasy DIY

I love anything DIY and crafty! I made this extremely easy DIY to keep my makeup brushes in and I love it!

You can easily make this too and I think it looks great in the bathroom and adds a little bit of a spa feel, who wouldn’t want that?

Easy DIY

You will need:

  • Small round glass jar (or square) – I bought mine from Michael’s
  • Bag of rocks – Also from Michael’s. I know Hobby Lobby has these same items too
  • That’s it!

Clean the glass jar before you start, I hate seeing fingerprints on glass. Then, you just dump the rocks in the jar, do this part gently, you don’t want to accidentally break the jar…

Then, add your brushes and voila! New makeup brush display!

Let me know in the comments what you think of this super simple easy peasy DIY!

Passion Tea Lemonade Gummies

I was wanting to make some green tea gummies, but I found passion tea in my cabinet, so of course I had to give that a try!

Passion Tea Lemonade Gummies

Passion Tea Lemonade Gummies

  • Boil 1/2 of water.
  • Add 1 Tazo Iced Passion Tea bags. I have the passion tea that makes a pitcher.
  • While the tea is brewing, take 5 gelatin packets and add it to 3/4 c water in a saucepan. I used a fork to stir the gelatin so that it dissolved.
  • Once the passion tea has been brewed, add it to the saucepan.
  • Then, add lemon juice. I didn’t take a measurement, but I’d say it was about 1/8 c. You can always add more or less depending on how lemon-y you want it to taste.
  • Then, add 1 or 2 packets of Stevia or sugar.
  • Then, add another packet of gelatin.
  • Heat the mixture to make sure the gelatin has been dissolved.
  • Finally, pour the mixture into a 9×9 or 8×8 pan or if you have molds you can pour it into that.
  • Refrigerate for 1 hour.
  • Cut the gummies into squares or take them out of the molds!

* Store in an air tight container in the fridge and enjoy!!

Planting My 1st Flower Garden

Planting a Garden

The other day my husband suggested that I plant a flower garden in the front of our house. We have a little flower bed by the front porch, but we hadn’t done anything with it since we’ve moved in. I thought, why not? I’m always up for something new! And the outdoor flower shop was having a half off sale, perfect!

Planting a Garden...where do I start?!

Now, let me just start off and say, I don’t know anything about planting flowers or what types of flowers are good to plant, how much water they need, sunlight exposure, etc.

I get to the flower shop, grab my cart and start going up and down the aisles, trying not to look completely clueless.

Planting a Garden...these are cute flowers!

There were some super cute flowers! And then some not so cute lol. I chose ones that I thought would look good in the front of our house. I didn’t go all matchy – matchy though, which is fine and totally in style right now!

Planting a Garden...My Flower Picks

(Whoever gets to name these flowers has a fun job!)

Planting a Garden...flower tags

After walking around for awhile and finally picking up a few flowers, I went to the check out and was on my merry way.

I had to make a Target stop to get a hand shovel, since we didn’t have one.

Planting a Garden...here goes nothing!

First, I had to get the weeds out of the flower bed. I don’t know a weed from a plant that’s supposed to be there, so I ended up digging out most of the plants. But, I’m pretty sure I left behind a few weeds…

Planting a Garden...got my 1st flower planted!!

Planting those flowers took way longer to do than I expected! I had to dig the dirt up (obviously) and then figure out how to get the stinkin flower out of the plastic tub thing it came in (which was the most difficult part). I was trying not to tear the flowers apart while trying to get them out of the plastic. Then came the easy part once I finally managed to get the flower out. I just put the flower in the hole I dug up and filled it back in with dirt.

Planting a Garden...My 1st Flower Garden

I think for my 1st time planting flowers, it turned out pretty cute!

Planting a Garden...time for a manicure

Now, it’s time for a well deserved manicure!

Healthier Banana Chocolate Chip Bread

I had 2 very ripe bananas yesterday and thought perfect time to make banana bread! I went online to find a super easy banana bread recipe and came across this one that I adapted to make a little bit healthier. I was surprised at how easy this bread was to make, I will definitely be making it again!

Banana Chocolate Chip Bread

Ingredients

  • 1/2 c coconut oil
  • 1 c sugar / Stevia
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 ripe bananas
  • 2 c flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 3 T sweetened almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla
  • 1 c chocolate chips

Directions

Beat the oil and sugar till well combined. Add in the eggs and bananas. Add in the flour, baking soda, baking powder, almond milk and vanilla. Mix well. Lastly, add in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter into a greased and floured pan. Bake at 350 for 1 hour. Let cool and enjoy! (I noticed that it took longer for the middle to cook. I eventually took it out of the oven a little doughy in the middle because I didn’t want to burn the rest of the bread. It will continue cooking once you take it out of the oven if you happen to have this same problem I did. And it turned out just fine! It’s not doughy in the middle anymore.)

My favorite way to eat this banana chocolate chip bread is to heat up a slice and add butter on top! YUMMY!!!

If you make this recipe, let me know what you think of it!

Friday Freebie DIY!

Recently, well, for the past several months, I’ve been eating healthier and cleaner. One of the things that I do to help me stay on track is meal planning. To meal plan, I figure out what my nightly dinners will be, make my grocery list, then head to the store.

I’ve made a cute weekly meal planner printable for you below!

DIY Time!

  • Print out the weekly menu (open the PDF version so you get the correct size: Weekly Menu)
  • Place in an 8″ x 10″ frame
  • Use a dry erase marker to write our your meals

I have my weekly menu hung up on a wall in our kitchen. It’s been great having it hung up so I will #1, remember  what I’m supposed to be cooking throughout the week and #2 so that I don’t get discouraged about cooking and want to go out to eat instead.

Open the PDF to get the 8″ x 10″ size of the menu. Weekly Menu

I love dressing up for holidays and going with the theme of the day. And 4th of July is just around the corner! I love the 4th of July, it’s fun to be with family and friends and lay out, go swimming, grill some burgers and watch the fireworks. Although, I do think fireworks are a little over-rated, but it’s still a fun time!

Below I’ve put together 2 different outfits for your 4th of July barbecue! One is more girly and the other is a bit more edgy.
